Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the differences in services you provide?
ABRiO offers services to individuals who are aging as well as individuals that have physical or developmental disabilities. The services we provide include non-medical in-home services funded by Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurances, or Private Duty. Most services are provided in the individual's home, however we also provide services in the community or center based settings.
2. How do I get services?
We can provide services in a number of ways based upon your qualifying situation. We contract with Medicaid agencies, Long Term Care Insurance companies and state government agencies. We also accept Private Pay from the family. Certain restrictions may apply if your services are funded through any of the above agencies. Either you or your Case Manager can contact us directly at our toll free number. One of our experienced professional Service Coordinators will come to your home for a mutual interview.
3. How do I know if ABRiO is qualified/certified to provide these services?
ABRiO has been providing quality in-home services for over 10 years. We are under contract with many government agencies and thus are audited by these agencies as well as insurance companies.
4. What kind of background check do you do on your employees?
All employees must pass an FBI background check prior to hiring. Caregivers must also provide valid references and pass our Core Training curriculum prior to working in your home.
5. What medical services do you provide?
ABRiO provides only non-medical care services. If you need additional medical care services, ABRiO can refer you to partnering relationships with agencies in your area.
6. Am I locked into some kind of a contract if I choose ABRiO to provide my services?
ABRiO does not require a contract to provide services to you. When you choose ABRiO to provide your services, we will develop a Care Plan that will outline your preferences and needs. As your needs change so can our services to you.
7. Do I get to pick my caregiver or do you just assign me one?
Our Service Coordinators will meet with you initially to develop your individualized Care Plan. During this process, we will determine what qualities you prefer in a caregiver. Our Service Coordinator will schedule interviews with you with several top notch caregivers and you will have the opportunity to choose the one(s) that you feel are best suited to your needs. After you have made your choice of a caregiver(s), our Service Coordinator will schedule your caregiver and will do a formal orientation at your home to ensure that your Care Plan is fully implemented.
8. Can I pay my caregiver directly to do extra things around the house?
It is recommended that all financial transactions occur through ABRiO's accounting department. As the employer of record, we ensure that all employee related expenses, such as pay roll taxes, Worker's Compensation, etc. are covered and this relieves you of any such liabilities.

ABRiO is never off duty. When the office is closed, there is an on-call Service Coordinator that can assist you with anything that may arise. At the time of your intake you will be provided with this On-call number to keep with you at all times.
